Background and purpose

The Clinical Directors Professional Network has been established to develop a professional community of practice for those responsible for the day-to-day running of clinical radiology services.

The aim of the network is to provide a forum where clinical directors can come together, share good practice, problem-solve and connect. To ensure the network remains valuable and productive, we’ve established a small working group of volunteers to help shape its design, delivery, and ongoing development, drawing on your collective skills and expertise.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for this role, you should be:

  • A consultant clinical radiologist who is currently a clinical director/clinical lead
  • A Fellow of the RCR
  • Resident in the United Kingdom at the time of your application
  • In active clinical practice with a current licence to practise.

Experience and competences

In order to fulfil this role, the individual will be expected to demonstrate:

  • expertise, knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by clinical leads in radiology
  • experience in representing the views of a range of individuals.
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • current employment in a clinical director/clinical lead role.

Role and responsibilities

The main duties of the steering group will be to:

  • Attend and participate at steering group meetings
  • Support the design and delivery of online and in-person events for Clinical Directors
    (up to three per year)
  • Suggest relevant topics and speakers for these sessions
  • Facilitating discussions during the events

Time commitment

The expected time commitment will be approximately 2-3 steering group meetings (conducted via Microsoft Teams) a year, each lasting an hour, plus email correspondence in interim to support planning activity.

Operation in the role

The steering group will be supported by staff in the Professional Networks Team. This will include providing administrative support to the steering group and event management for webinars.

Resources

This is a voluntary role. Meetings are expected to take place virtually.
