Conditions of use 

These are the terms and conditions for use of the members and Fellows area of the RCR web site.

1. The members and Fellows area of the RCR web site is secure in order to provide a range of services and information intended for members and Fellows of the College only. These services arise both from the College's own work and from information secured by the College from third parties to whom the College has had to provide an undertaking to pass on information in a secure manner solely to members and Fellows of the College.

2. The secure area of the RCR web site is intended to provide a range of services for members and Fellows who are in good standing. Should an individual's membership lapse, or be suspended, access to the site will be restricted and re-registration will be necessary.

3. In registering for the secure area and in using the site members and Fellows are responsible for protecting their password/username and must ensure that this information is not shared or disclosed to anyone. Should such misuse occur, the RCR reserves the right to restrict the member or Fellow's access to the site.

4. By using this site you signify your consent to these conditions of use. If you do not agree to these conditions of use, please do not use the site.

Privacy

This is the Privacy Policy that you agree to in registering as a user of the password-protected area of the RCR members and Fellows area. The RCR will use the information collected online to develop and enhance the service we offer to our members and Fellows. We take privacy issues seriously and are open about the way data is collected and used. This policy outlines the principles we follow.

1. What data is collected and how is it used?

  • The site may gather information which does not personally identify you but which may be helpful for the development or improving the services we offer. This information is collected through traffic data and may entail the use of Cookies, IP addresses or other numeric codes used to identify a computer.
  • When you register as a user of the members and Fellows area of the RCR web site, you need to choose a user name and password and to provide your place of birth for authentication purposes. We also require an e-mail address. This will be used to update your membership record held by the RCR and may be used to send you information about your membership of the College or College activities.

2. Does the RCR disclose information it collects to third parties?

  • Only in very limited circumstances. The RCR does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. The RCR will itself consider and publish aggregate statistics about membership usage of this site but these statistics include no personally identifying information. If you pay for any College services on line, we will collect personal information including payment details and pass them on to the relevant agency. If the College develops its intentions to communicate more frequently with members and Fellows using electronic means and to develop web-based tools for the collection and analysis of audit data, the College, or any agency working on behalf of it for this purpose, may contact you using the e-mail address you provide.

3. How does the RCR protect personal privacy?

  • The RCR's site developers and service providers use up to date industry procedures to keep personal data as safe and secure as possible and protect again loss, unauthorised disclosure or access. Personal information collected by the site is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. In instances such as the use of credit card number, the personal information is encrypted before you conduct your transaction.
  • The RCR Privacy Policy cannot cover the transfer of your personal information if you provide personal information through chat sessions, email exchanges or bulletin boards use made available to you on the RCR web site. You should always be careful when distributing your personal information in this manner.
  • Please remember that you are responsible for protecting your username/password and must not share it or allow its disclosure to anyone.

Limitations of use

The materials on this web site are for the use of Fellows and members of the Royal College of Radiologists. Under no circumstances shall RCR be liable for any special or consequential damages arising from the use or reliance on information contained within this web site.
