• Swansea Bay University Health Board
Eligibility and Term of Office
Elected members of the Standing Welsh Committee will be Fellows or members of The Royal College of Radiologists in good standing, holding a current licence to practise in the UK, practising in Wales and having the majority of their sessions within the relevant Network, Health Board or Trust. Each elected member will serve a term of four years. An elected member retiring from the Standing Welsh Committee will not be eligible for re-election until a period of one year has elapsed.
Role and responsibilities
The Standing Welsh Committee represents The Royal College of Radiology in Wales, ensuring that appropriate College matters are communicated to and discussed with clinical radiologists and clinical oncologists practising in Wales. Each elected member has the responsibility of ensuring that the views and concerns of the clinical oncologists or clinical radiologists in their constituency are relayed to the Standing Welsh Committee, which in turn will feed back to The Royal College of Radiologists through the Clinical Oncology and Clinical Radiology Faculty Boards.
Time commitment
The Standing Welsh Committee meets in Wales three times annually. Generally two meetings will be held remotely (January/February and October/November) and one in person (June/July).
Election process
Elections will be run by electronic ballot centrally through The Royal College of Radiologists. Eligible Fellows and members will:
- Be nominated and seconded by Fellows in good standing of their own Faculty practising primarily within their region
- Provide written consent of their willingness to stand
- Be elected by ballot of Fellows and members practising primarily in that region
