Event overview
Join us for a one-day study day designed for clinical oncology trainees, clinical oncologists, medical physicists, radiographers and allied healthcare professionals. Learn about particle therapy, joining an optional proton therapy centre tour on Sunday 18 May at the University College London Hospital and connect and network with your peers at our pre-study day dinner. Please note the dinner is optional and there will an additional fee to attend.
5 CPD points will be awarded on completion of this course. Please note this event will not be available to view on-demand post event.
Learning objectives
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of basic physics underpinning particle therapy, including proton therapy, heavy ions, boron and neutron
- Identify key indications for proton therapy including clinical trials, and evaluative commissioning indications and referral pathway for patients.
- Apply principles of properties of proton therapy to cases in a wide range of tumour sites and clinical scenarios, as well as the challenges of proton therapy in clinical practice.
Who should attend
- Clinical oncology specialty trainees
- Clinical oncologists consultants
- Medical physicists
- Radiographers
- Allied healthcare professionals
This event is tailored to those working in the UK.
