Event overview

The Royal College of Radiologists is hosting its annual Management Skills for Oncologists workshop. The sessions will study the skills and approaches needed to undertake effective management as a consultant clinical oncologist.

This three-day programme will cover topics including appraisal, revalidation and dealing with difficult colleagues, specialist commissioning of radiotherapy and chemotherapy services, and the QIPPs (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) drive by the NHS.  

As in previous years, didactic lectures will be interspersed with interactive activities led by experts in the field. 

20 CPD points will be awarded on completion of this course. This course is not being recorded and will not be available for live streaming or on-demand post event.

  1. Develop practical management skills and approaches to effectively run a busy UK oncology department
  2. Connect and interact with like-minded colleagues from across the UK who are facing similar challenges

  • Clinical and medical oncology senior trainees
  • Clinical oncology consultants in their first years of practice

  • RCR consultant Fellows and members: Consultants with an active RCR membership.
  • RCR member trainee & non-member allied healthcare professionals (AHP): This applies to trainees with an active RCR membership, as well as AHP, who will not have an RCR membership, including, radiographers, physicists, SHOs, SAS doctors and medical students.
  • Non-member consultants: Consultants who don't have an active RCR membership.
  • Non-member trainees: Trainees who don't have an active RCR membership.
